2021 Fletcher Moot
The 2021 Ian Fletcher International Insolvency Moot was held online as a virtual moot due to COVID-19 travel restrictions around the world. While it is disappointing that we could not hold the event in person, the virtual moot attracted a record 34 registrations ahead of the written rounds. This allowed us to increase the oral rounds to 12 teams, including our first oral team from South America.
The Oral rounds were held over the course of the week of 15-19 March, with the Grand Final being broadcast live as a webinar on Saturday 20 March. The Final attracted over 90 viewers.

SPIRIT OF THE MOOT AWARD
This year, the Spirit of the Moot award was given to the University of Sao Paulo, Brazil, who originally placed just outside of the top 12 teams. One team unfortunately had to pull out of the competition, allowing the University of Sao Paulo to step in. This occurred a mere 10 days before the oral rounds were due to begin, leaving them with only 5 days to prepare each their Appellant and Respondent outlines before they were due to speak. Congratulations to the team on their achievement.
